Notes on Publications

PDF Notes

  1. Make SURE you have version 3.0 or greater of the Acrobat Reader®. The Acrobat Reader® can be obtained for FREE from www.adobe.com and runs on just about any hardware platform.

  2. When viewing PDF files on Macintosh computers, there will sometimes appear annoying visual artifacts on the screen. These artifacts are minor and do not obscure the contents of the document, but don't be alarmed if you see them. This should be fixed in a future release of the Acrobat Reader® and/or the Adobe Type Manager® (ATM). Affected files will, however, print correctly without any artifacts.

  3. When attempting to print an entire PDF file, you will often run into situations where the print job dies, especially for printers with limited memory. To mitigate this problem, try printing the document piecemeal (i.e., a few pages at a time).

  4. If you know of any other problems or helpful hints, please let me know by e-mail.
