On Friday, May 15, 2026, the Center for Wireless Communications (CWC) at UC San Diego and Keysight Technologies co-hosted the Advanced Wireless Colloquium at Franklin Antonio Hall on the UCSD campus in La Jolla, California. The full-day event brought together engineers, researchers, and industry leaders from academia and industry — including representatives from UCSD, Keysight, Qualcomm, and Boeing — for a day of expert presentations and interactive discussions spanning 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The colloquium focused on the technologies and policies driving 5G Advanced, 6G, and beyond, with sessions covering RF Digital Twins, AI RAN, non-terrestrial networks, integrated sensing and communication, and Edge AI integration.

The event featured presentations from UCSD faculty including Professors Xinyu Zhang, Piya Pal, Dinesh Bharadia, and Gabriel Rebeiz, alongside panel discussions and talks from Keysight's Mark Pierpoint (Executive Emeritus Consultant) and Akhilesh Daniel (Director of 6G Research Collaborations), and Qualcomm's Yeliz Tokgoz (Principal Engineer), offering a rich blend of academic innovation and industry expertise. Student poster presentations added an additional dimension, showcasing cutting-edge graduate research from the CWC community. The colloquium was met with strong enthusiasm from attendees, with Keysight's Colin Bauer (Marketing Initiative Manager) noting it was "a great honor to collaborate with such a great institution" and expressing interest in returning for a future event. Slides from the presentations were subsequently shared with CWC faculty, students, and industry board members, extending the event's impact well beyond the day itself.
