Biography
Steven Li, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor. He provides primary care for adults, including preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. He has a special interest in medical informatics and enjoys finding ways to leverage technology to achieve goals for optimal health care.
Dr. Li believes an integrated, team-based approach to health care with shared decision making is the key to the prevention and treatment of disease, chronic conditions and acute medical issues.
Before joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Li served as medical informatics officer and lead physician at VA Palo Alto Health Care System in French Camp, Calif. He also practiced at the Henry Ford Health System in Dearborn, Michigan.
Dr. Li completed his residency training in internal medicine at the University of Michigan where he had extensive exposure to the intensive care unit. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Miami.
When not at work, he enjoys football, Star Trek and spending time with his wife and their two children.
