Biography

Melissa Wong, MD, provides primary care for adults, including preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. She has a special interest in women's health and preventative medicine.
Dr. Wong believes in partnering with patients so they can make informed healthcare decisions. She also enjoys empowering individuals to take an active role in their health.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Wong instructs medical students and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is passionate about medical education and received the Department of Medicine’s 2015-16 “Going the Extra Mile" Award.
Dr. Wong completed a residency in internal medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia.
She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians and the San Diego County Medical Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Wong enjoys playing golf, photography, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
